THIEL SS1 SmartSub Subwoofer

More than boom and rumble, THIEL SmartSubs bring the same coherence and precision to bass found in full-range speakers. Clever controls on the rear panel let you dial in the perfect response for your room.

Dark Cherry is a rich, warm color that brings a pop of color to your stereo or home theater.

500 watts driving a single 10 inch driver punches well above its weight, even in this prototype cabinet.

This, the smallest THIEL SmartSub still performs with the same exceptional depth, punch, and articulation of the larger THIEL subs. The 10″ bass driver features a 1.5″ peak excursion plus classic THIEL design characteristics like an aluminum cone and short coil / long gap. Additionally, the thermal compression compensation maintains exceptional sound quality even under heavy load. The patented boundary compensation circuitry corrects the SS1’s room response without any additional software or microphones.

If you’re incorporating this SS1 with a set of THIEL speakers, we will build a PXO passive crossover to match at no additional charge.

I’ve used this SS1 as my personal sub since I procured it from THIEL before they moved to Nashville. Though it was originally powered by a prototype amplifier, I’ve replaced it with a stock SS1 amp for greater reliability for this sale.

The amplifier is unusual among today’s subwoofers because it features a Class A/B output stage which gives it a particular depth and sense of power.

Whether you’re building a home theater or seeking more depth in your stereo system, this THIEL SS1 will satisfy your taste for deep, powerful bass that’s never boomy or out of place.
